JACKSONS SHORTLISTED FOR AWARDS

6th October 2008

Jackson Building Centres has been shortlisted in two categories for the Builders’ Merchants Awards for Excellence 2008 where finalists will be invited to attend the Awards luncheon and presentations at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on 21st November.

The Awards for Excellence is now in its seventh year and for Jackson Building Centres and other Builders Merchants up and down the country, it is a major event in the industry’s calendar.

This year, Jackson Building Centres has been shortlisted for Best Builders’ Merchants Showroom sponsored by Hotpoint, and the Best Builders’ Merchants Marketing Initiative, sponsored by Finnforest UK Ltd.

Every year, the Awards, organised by Builders Merchants News, ensure that those individuals and companies who have made a demonstrable difference to the way in which their businesses have grown, have an opportunity to obtain a reward for their hard work.

David Wilson, organiser of the Awards said, “Despite the current difficult times, the number of nominations received has exceeded last year’s record total and the quality of submissions was at an all time high.”

Jackson, which has previously won awards in the contest, entered its new showroom at Lincoln into the competition and also submitted its successful Marketing Initiative, Bonanza 2008, an annual exhibition held by Jackson Building Centres at the Lincolnshire Showground.

Bonanza gives suppliers from across the country the opportunity to promote their products to Jackson customers.  Each year Bonanza has a theme to add an atmosphere of excitement to the exhibition.  This year’s theme was ‘Soaps and Sitcoms’, whereby customers enjoyed doing business with Peggy Mitchell and Norman Stanley Fletcher!

Jackson Building Centres Marketing Manager Colin Bartleet said, “The company is delighted to be involved in the awards again.

We are continually pushing the boundaries and striving to achieve better standards year on year.  Being shortlisted for these two awards shows us that we are heading in the right direction,” he added.
