JACKSON BRANCH HAS GRAND DESIGNS ON LANDSCAPING

10th May 2008

Jackson Building Centres on Coxmoor Road, in Sutton in Ashfield kicked off its landscaping launch by showcasing an innovative new landscape feature designed by a local student.

Liam Gregory, an Architecture and Design undergraduate at Nottingham Trent University, designed the feature whilst participating in the Aim Higher Scheme, an initiative operated by Ashfield District Council to provide good quality 8 week work placements with local employers.

During his placement at the Jackson branch, Liam was given the task of designing a landscaping feature, which would be built and displayed at the branch in time for the company’s landscaping launch.

The result is a stunning and contemporary design, which uses the very latest products and innovations to bring a whole new dimension to landscaping. The design includes paving in an array of shapes, colours and textures, water features, and mood lighting to create a perfect ambience.

Lyndon Johnson, Jackson’s Sutton-in-Ashfield Branch Manager, said: “Jackson is a large employer in the region and is always keen to attract talented individuals like Liam to the company, so schemes like Aim Higher are extremely worthwhile.

“The landscaping feature which Liam designed for us is a truly inspired design, which really demonstrates the diversity of products and styles available, bringing landscaping techniques right up to date.”

He continued: “This is another fine example of Jackson working closely with the local authorities to retain skills and talent in the region. It’s extremely reassuring to know that we have such talented young people right on our doorstep.”

The design which took 6 weeks to build, has also won huge plaudits from Ashfield District Council who operated the scheme.
