JACKSON APPOINTS MANAGER OF NEW BRANCH AT WHITTLESEY
2nd April 2007
A MANAGER has been appointed to head Jackson Building Centre’s, newly acquired Whittlesey branch.
Mark Pellow, joined the company in April 1996, originally working in the Heavyside Sales Department at the Spilsby branch. He was then promoted to Heavyside Manager at the Boston branch in January 2001, where he was quickly promoted again to the position of Assistant Branch Manager. Mark took up his new role as Branch Manager of the Whittlesey branch in January.
Jackson, which currently operates 24 branches in the East Midlands, completed the purchase of the Whittlesey branch, originally TTBS (Total Timber and Building Supplies Ltd) on 1st December. The Whittlesey branch has been trading for two years and operates from relatively small premises with eleven employees.
This latest acquisition is part of an on-going investment programme by Jackson Building Centres, as part of the Grafton Group plc, to develop and expand the business, which has included further acquisitions and improvements at many of the Group’s branches, including a major refurbishment of the company’s showroom in Lincoln.
Robin Laidler, Operations Director commented: “Jackson has been keen to have a presence in the Peterborough area for quite some time and we are delighted by this latest acquisition. “
He continued: “Mark’s appointment will facilitate the on-going integration with the other Jackson branches and provide valuable support to the existing staff at the branch during this important change over period. I wish him well in his new role and I look forward to giving him my full support. “
