JACKSON RENEWABLE ENERGY SEMINAR
10th July 2006
Jackson Building Centres recently held a one-day seminar, which focused on the benefits of using renewable energy systems.
The seminar took place at the Bentley Hotel in Lincoln, close to the company’s head office, and was attended by Jackson branch representatives and manufacturers of solar energy products.
Climate change and global warming are issues of major significance and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions is now higher on the Government’s political agenda than ever before. With this in mind, Jackson considers renewable energy systems to be a step in the right direction and an important and emerging market to tap into.
The seminar involved a number of presentations from manufacturers of renewable energy systems. Alpha Boilers spoke about its latest innovation, the Alpha SolarSmart. The SolarSmart represents a major breakthrough in solar thermal technology, making solar-based domestic hot water heating more accessible and cost-effective than ever before. Other presentations were given by Heatrae/Sadia, Grant Boilers and Worcester Boilers who spoke about the benefits of solar water heating products, as well as Ground Source Pumps – an electrically powered system that taps into the natural heat stored in the earth to heat your home.
David Toye, branch manager at Lincoln commented: “The seminar was a great success and gave Jackson staff an excellent insight into what’s available on the market.
The benefits of using solar thermal technology are immense, it is the most reliable, efficient and accessible form of renewable energy and is kind to the environment, as it has no emissions. By using solar heating you will not only save a considerable amount of money, but you will also lessen the impact you have on the environment.”
With fuel prices on the increase, using the sun to heat your water seems to make perfect sense and with the government providing grants toward the cost of installation, there has perhaps never been a better time to go Solar!
