Jackson Building Centre in Swinton was proud to support the Doncaster Life After Breast Cancer Support Group’s “The Girls Are Back” Fashion Show, which took place at The Doncaster Dome on Friday 12th May.
The builder’s merchant in Swinton supplied around £800 worth of timber materials that were used to create the catwalk for the fashion event, which was attended by around 1,500 supporters of the charity.
Neil Bennett, branch manager at Jackson’s Swinton branch commented: “When we were approached by the group to get involved, we were very happy to lend our support .The group provides a much needed service to the local community and by making this contribution, Jackson hopes to be able to assist them in raising money for breast cancer research.”
The Doncaster Life After Breast Cancer Support Group was founded in October 1993 and plays a vital role in providing a support network for local ladies and their families who have been touched by breast cancer.
The fashion show, which is now in its fourth year, was designed to show that ladies who had been touched by breast cancer could still look fabulous after breast surgery.
Sue Hodge of the Doncaster support group commented: “The fashion show was a great success and was a real celebration of life. The ladies that took part in the event are a shining example of courage and confidence after having breast surgery.”
“ We are so grateful to Jackson for their fabulous contribution. The set that was built using the timber materials that they provided us with, really gave the show that added extra.”
