Jackson's opens new hire department
2nd June 2004
A BUILDERS’ merchants has extended its range of services to customers with the opening of a tool hire department.
The new purpose-built facility at Jackson’s Building Centre in Corby stocks a wide range of brand name equipment from small hand tools to mini diggers.
Malcolm Selmes has been appointed to manage the department working alongside fitter Blake Nisbet.
Jackson’s has also invested in a new Beaver Tail lorry and can deliver and collect equipment from its customers’ doorsteps.
Corby branch manger Paul Chopping said the new service was proving popular. “We have always had very good power tool sales here and demand for the hire department has been very encouraging,” he said.
The hire department has a fleet of three mini diggers which are in great demand and include two new Bobcat micro diggers that can fit through a standard doorway.
Safety is a top priority for Jackson’s and staff are on hand to give detailed instructions and demonstrations to customers. Trained staff are also available to offer advice over the telephone.
The new venture at Corby is part of Jackson’s ongoing development programme and commitment to extend its services to trade and retail customers throughout the East Midlands. Several of its 19 branches also offer the facility.
As well as offering a tool hire service, the branch stocks a wide range of items and equipment to tackle a host of projects including heating supplies, building materials, timber, landscaping, ironmongery and decorating products.
